The decimal point is missing between "2.5"Tb and "2.0" USB. Printscreen pics of the available space or it never happened =P
Re: Off Topic Rants
:facepalm
i think that's a WB 2.5 TB drive box. and the 20 is usb 2.0. a 5 bay box is like $269. and nowhere on the web can i find that. there is no such thing as a 20 drive bay usb box. only server racks have 20 bays.and no where does it say raid 5. so yeah its a missprint or its fake as hell.
6tb is real its 2 3tb in raid 0. if one drive fails you lose all your data i better back up all that porn.

Things I enjoyed upgrading or adding:
- went over 32 gigs of ram (so overclocked)
- 25 TB HDD - all in one system and still growing (Yes I do need the space)
- Switching out the motherboard every 6 months (does not cost me a dime)
Right there you said you owned one....
Now you don't have one.....what the hell man?

see now that looks nice......sadly external drives would not fit in their..i'd be wasting my money for nothing
Their are a lot of downsides in owning countless external HDS....but at least you have the extra space
Re: Off Topic Rants
You do know that they are just sata drives with a USB\FW controller?spade88 wrote:

inside the box you place internal SATA hard drives. It ships empty. the entire thing is designed to be on a rack.
Re: Off Topic Rants

Protective cover? lol I take it you mean an enclosure? Which all you have to do is remove the HDDs from the enclosure and put them in the box xD

nope a protective case you can buy separately or have custom made...
when you travel a lot the security at the airport always man handles the HDs.....at least with the protective casing it doesn't get damaged as much.

And when would you be at the air port with a 25tb drive? to be honest you normally put hard-drives in your luggage. not on your person. thats what I did last time I went for a trip.

I travel frequently, and I never said I was using all of my desktop HDs....
Actually it is very common to get stopped when you have metal objects in your carry on that the security does not recognize.
Re: Off Topic Rants
if you open a external hard drive there is just a regular desktop or laptop drive in there with a SATA to usb adapter. You can actually connect any sata device to that box.
This device will allow you to make any internal hard drives/dvd/cd drives usb
i have 2 of them and im actually using one with a 80 gig drive
http://www.compusa.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2329300&Sku=M501-1220
Its a cool adapter as u can use it with any old hard drive laying around. Since i got stacks of old hard drives i can use them old hard drives like usb flash drives.

Once again put it in your lugage, I doubt you need it while your wating for your plane.
also its 2012 I think most security would see the usb port and be like Oh this is a usb drive!
Okay, I stand corected I forgot about the guy who missed his plane because he had a MBA and security did not know what it was and they though it was a bomb.
btw this was at an american airport. so what can you expect?

Re: Off Topic Rants
u can take external drives on a plane. if its in your suit case they might make you take it out and run it in the scanner separate. they do that for game consoles and dvd players. the scanner cant see it well in a suitcase. that's why laptops must be out of the bags. i had my 1.8 inch external hard drive with me.(1.8" hard drives are uber small i took it out of a 30gb ipod video)
Social networking is stupid
Am I the only one who thinks the social networking sites are dumbest thing in existence?
I was on this one stupid macfourm site and everone there was freaking out over this Girls Iphone, I think her name was bibber beaber? Beaver? WTF, She looked like....well stupid.....
They all wanted to get a iphone just because this person had one... Who the heck cares?
Social networking is stalking 3.0! It serves no real pupors in life. Facebook is going to become a big giant and brainwash us all in to believing what ever they want it seems.
Social networking should be killed immediately!

People are so concerned about stupid shit on their phones that they dont look around and see wahts going on around the world. the governments love this. its how tyranny begins. once Google becomes skynet it will be to late. and the nobs with the phone will be tie first to go.
Re: Off Topic Rants
