I now have a monitor in place to counteract the server crashes. If it goes down completely during the hosts backup cycle, then it will restart automatically. This method won't work if it's a memory shortage issue, but this should help out for now at least.

Nah, I know it definitely went down when I was playing last night ("monitor has detected an error and is shutting down" or whatever it says)

Seems to be some sort of issue with JP players causing the server to fall over...

Thats whats being reported... however, when i3ot restarted the server, i asked him to get me a lux log too. There were no jp versions connected, or if there were it bypassed the dns

Only time will tell. For now let's keep it under surveillance and see what's actually going on. Hopefully it's just something accidental, un-intended rather than on purpose

I don't think it's on purpose, just that when a certain player who speaks JP in the lobby joins a team it causes the server to stop responding (and eventually kick everyone and shut down).

I've spoken to the person in question and from the sounds of it none has been intended.
In fact the person didn't even know that they were the cause of it. They noticed however that at times when trying to join games there's a looong waiting time before and error 101 message pops ups

I wanna know what version they're playing on. If it is jp and its bypassing the dns, then someones using ar or a proxy.

Hmm I should have read that before I logged off xD
I played a decent amount of time with the person and everything seemed fine.
For all I know he or she probably is from jp, english is not fluent but not too bad

Anyway if server goes down you know the drill, post here or pm me and I'll see reboot if I'm still awake at that point xD

It's certainly a possibility. When I can get on I'll see if I can deduct the language. If its european, we can communicate. If not, then my linguistic skills are useless ;p

You should be able to. My example scenario would be devolution. Everyone who logs in through it shares the same IP server side.

If he's connected properly it should. Have him try to connect with just himself connected from that IP address.

My issue from just over a year ago has now been fixed lol

Last year I couldn't connect at all using devo on my old wii u, but today that has changed I got a wii u again and thought id give it another go and I can now connect Very Happy
